Uprising of Education


          Monday,March 4th 2013. The main idea the meeting is about uprising of education. First Mr. Marsigit tells us to make question about everything. And Mr. Marsigit read some question. First question is from Atika the question are why the sky is blue? According Mr. Marsigit the sky is blue can different means in everywhere depend on who its talking about.
          And then, when we were a student we think that mathematics is only one. And then the perseption changes when we finished our study, understand that mathematics not only one. There are mathematics. the number of mathematics is equal to number of people that think mathematics. the definitions of mathematics are different in every people.
          When we present at National Mathematics Seminar, there were Prof. Widodo that explain the definition of mathematics based on theory that maked by mathematics personage. And then, Mr. Marsigit compare the student are study is like someones in the valley, and Profesor- profesor are in the peak of mountain.where ever the people is study mathematics, so we must pay attention with them.
          Basicly, there are two category of mathematics. There are pure mathematics or axiomatic mathematics and school mathematics. So we must go down from mountain or from our position and help the student that difficulty study mathematics. And then, smart people who can adapt with situation and use various method to get the purpose. And smart people gentlemanly too.
            In the school, or elementary mathematics is an activity. The activity looking for the patrn or the relationship. The activity to solve the problem, third the activity investigation, observe. The last mathematics is the means of communication. But in the fact, there are many problem that make student hard to understand mathematics because the lesson that not appropriate with their level. It`s the background that make Mr. Marsigit Uprising of Education. And Mr. Marsigit develop the method or approch with observe, from greek Hermain god. That method of Silaturahim. And we can study from what the god creat likes from plant, from animal and so all. And the good way to study mathematics is to be translate to be reflection. And we aplied to study english, we study with silaturahim method.
            And the next question from Deni, the  question is what should the teacher do to make student pay attention with him. The answer is not must attention, but there time to look when we must listen what teacher talk, and when we talk to. And the next question What is good student. The answer is good student is her/him who can talk good, and can feel happy when study, talk happy with their lips not the teacher that talk mathematics is happy. And the question from Anwar how to facilited student to learn mathematics happily.
            And the friendly method is learn from good creted. And the good teacher is who can facilited the student, with various method and technologi, likes web blog.

The Problem of Mathematics Teaching

          Monday,February  25th  2013. The main idea the neeting is about The Problem of Mathematics teaching. Especially to teaching method that used by teacher.

          The first, picture 1. Thismethod reflect traditional method of teaching learning of mathematics is traditional teaching. In this method its very old method, that the purpose is just transfer of knowladge.In this method, there are characteristic of student and teacher behaviour. The characteristic of student behaviour are :
1.      Student inclined passive, because the teacher just explain the material so student can`t taken in the lesson.
2.      Student will borong, because the teacher just explain the material.
3.      And than student easy sleepy.
And the characteristic of teacher behaviour are :
1.      Teacher inclined Conceited
2.      Teacher just explain the lesson.
3.      Teacher just show their skill.
4.      Teacher not trust at her/his student.
5.      Teacher just transfer knowladge.
          Second, picture 2. Means the teacher to fasilited student. In this method the actor is student, that in the first is focus to teacher now focus to student. In this method the student must be active at the lesson. The teacher fasilited using various method, resource, trals or equipment. The resource can organaized as web blog, thepurpose in order that to develop own knowladge, in everywhere we can open this blog and can study from this.The student also can construct, invent own life. The philosopy of this method is constructivism. In this


Method, the student are to be perceived as seed, so teacher be fasilitated to grow up the ability of student until them usefull.
          In the fact it`s not easy to implement the innovative method or teaching. Because traditional method have been our culture from colonizer era until now. But the innovative method must be implement because it is nature likes plant.
          So the problem of education comes from an adult. Means if the student have problem with their study it could be comes from the teacher, how the teacher explain, the teacher it could be push the student to accsess knowladge like teacher thinking. It`s no provide now, it`s call stimulus respond. But now we can learn from everything, like from internet from friend etc. In this innovative method the student is unpredictble. Every knowladge not coming from the teacher.
The nature of all aspects of teaching learning of mathematics. For example :
1. The nature of school mathematics.
2. The nature of student`s learning mathematics.
3. The nature of learning resource.
Mainly there are 2 mathematcs.
1. Formal mathematics.
2. School mathematics.

           ·    pure mathematics





          University level
            ·    According Ebboft Stair, 1995.
1.    Mathematics is a seach of pathern and relasionsip.
2.    Mathematics is a problem solving activity.
3.    Mathematics is a investigation activity.
4.    Mathematics is the means of communication. That means mathematics can substance to communication.



 



Elementary, Junior, and Senior high school
         

So in the elementary school, we can analize there is not an problem solving, investigation, communication it`s not mathematics. In the fact, in elementary school many student have push with university level material.

          At the base is concrat mathematics mens everything that  support, example is table, paper, board, etc. So in the university level is study about formal mathematics. Model concret means what is to be visual like use drawing picture. And in the formal mathematics model concret use symbol “3+2”. Everything not be definited. And now problem of education is student lost their intuision, and the it`s the fundamentation problem of mathematics education.

I agree with the suggestions to Draft Curriculum Development Team 2013, Kemdikbud. and i think the change is necessary. because the fact, in this condition educations is very difficult to explain, so need chages.

I think the change is necessary to win especially changes that lead to the creation of a better curriculum than ever before. But here is the curriculum is too much haste and should be prepared before making the change. but if it should be expedited curriculum change that then there is a need to be addressed, Mr. Marsigit already provided input to Repair Draft Curriculum 2013 in a previous post. And I think he really gives inputs advice. Physically, nor referred to as Curriculum 2013, but better known as the Revised Curriculum 2006, so that people do not consider the new curriculum as totally foreign to Curriculum 2006, then no change in the curriculum called berpendekatan Sain replaced "exploratory approach" and his many other suggestions. And I hope Draft Curriculum Development Team 2013, Kemdikbud can consider his suggestions.

This discussion is heavy. I`am very appreciate to Mr. Marsigit, because Mr. Marsigit heve been discuss about Language and Mathematics. I conclude from Mr. Marsigit Post are there an models thet offered by Mr. Stoneman and I agree, that the models are bit dangerous to children, because the communication is less at the models. So must any models that not dangerous to children.

from the draft I conclude that:
1. the first we must have is trust, belief, faith that there isn`t somethink who have our life, that we belief of the God. it is the foundation of our activity in life. so, we must have religion.
2.we must know the philosophy our life is for what and to what.
3. so, after taht we have the philosophy of mathematics. and thinking and implementation to our life.
4. and the last is about dimention of non-life. from four in the top, I am very like option one. So, we can implement it in our live. to get success on live and beyond. Aminn

yes, Matematikawan is an people that easy to persuable by syaitan with their ligic. so always remember this Elegy.
ones more Iam very like this Elegy.
I forget that I must reflection this elegy because I drifted by this elegy.So, According to me this article tells about the important to protect our mind, we are matematics peolple or matematikawan, we have great ability of thinking with logic. so, often our mind is contaminated with syaitan. from our Ability and our arrogant. But, actualy our ability and our logic is difinit.

Just share,I`m before get study with Mr.Marsigit,didn`t met the lesson like this. about Philosophy, Psychology, Spiritual, Character, Mathematics Education, and Lesson Study. it`s first. but I don`t know I prefers the elegy to another. because the meaning is really partinent.
and from this elegy I know that I`m MAHASISWA but not full likes in this elegy.
that we must not be arrogant whwn we study, we must trust and netral. we don`t use instant formula to get something, we must try and try. because live is choise. so we must the right choise.

Bismillah.
from this Elegy,I conclude that:
As we know the Sholat is post of Islam. So Sholat must be Khusyuk to accepted by Allah SWT. and to make khusyuk there are the step:
1. first, we must dzikir to Allah, remember to Allah always.
2. second, we must clean our heart from everything that make is hard.
3. next if cant not, we must not be envy and reverenge.
4. the last, we must descend our desire and lust.
so, if we was try to get khusyuk, Insyaallah our sholat will accept. Aminn.

I think that IT have a benifit and shortfall. In this context IT can support the activity of study in possitive, likes use web-blog that used by Mr.Marsigit, we can learn and study from it in everywhere. But IT have shortfall, likes use programs that suppot study but it makes dangerous for student, example models program that basic of games programs. So from this we as adult must be selective when will use IT for student .

I think, younger learner is the subject Of learning. So indirectly meaning that they are just learning and that means they do not know much about math, and they will receive only what is given by the teacher, which may mean they are screaming inside, but the difference is if a teacher does not impose the will, let students find what they want to know. Pupils will develop itself and sincere in carrying out, do not feel forced and constrained.
So, I agree with Mr. Marsigit, And it should be a teacher should be wise as it deserves. Not only concerned with his own ego.

From the picture I conclude that:

In our lives, like circles and lines. And when the circle will be a drag on the spiral. And the philosophical journey of our life is like a spiral. And according to scientists the earth orbit around the sun will also spiral. Natural examples of these events, so if we want to be happy and Hereafter we should follow the example of the symptoms of natural phenomena that are all around us, one of which is the trace of the earth around the sun. We will never occupy the same position at the same time, but circular.
